Memories of 2011

Post by Doc on Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:37 pm

There were plenty of big talking points this year, as well as some great golf. For me some of the big ones were:

1) Elliot Saltman
2) Rory's car crash in Augusta
3) Rory's brilliant come back.
4) Lukes amazing year and doing something nobody has ever done before.
5) Steve Williams histrionics
6) Belly putters
7) European dominance of the worlds top 10, with kaymer, Westwood and Luke filling the top spot all year.
8) Ball marking errors and rule changes
9) The loss of GMac's form
10) Team Chubby almost doing the slam.
11) Rory leaves Chubby to join his mate at Horizon
12) The best rumour of the year is that Tiger leaves Nike to join Bridgestone, which should be anounced at the end of the month.

Over to you sunny

One seriously large memory missing there.

The death and sad parting of Seve Ballasteros...

Other than monumental one, memories for me...

1. Charl birdies last 4 holes to win Masters
2. Rory winning US Open emphatically
3. Darren Clarkes monumental Open win
4. Sergios return to a resemblance of form
5. Luuuuke destroying the back 9 at Disney to win US Money list
6. Luke being the 1st, World, US and European No1 in the same season
7. Spending half the year on the sidelines not being able to play
8. Mavette getting her handicap down to 10 and making ladies cclub cchamp final

ChrisGG despite having an awful season in terms of handicap gets to the quarter finals of the greensomes, semi's in the singles, loses in the final of the scratch cup to a scratch player on the 18th and wins the betterball. cheers

In all seriousness my favourite moment of the year was without a doubt Clarke winning the open. Saddest moment was Seve No RIP
